"This is what I’ve always liked about New York. These little moments on the sidewalk, smoking, thinking about your life. Makes you appreciate the city better. You can watch the buildings. You can feel the air and look at the people, sometimes meet somebody you feel like you can talk to".
It's a quote from the film ‘New York, I love you’, but also the way I feel about this city. Living in New York may be hard going, the constant 24-hour-a-day noise, the crowds, the expense, the no-stop-living-and-working lifestyle and yet, so inspiring and so addicting. It is a place where cultures blend, where creativity meets talent, where you always find whatever you need whenever you need it, it's the opportunity, the culture, the people. I ache for new York.
I don’t know whether this is love or infatuation, whether it is distance that makes the heart grow fonder and each coming back so sweet, but each time it's like falling deeper and just feel that I belong.
And just like with human relationship, only time will tell. It will take persistence, trust, and most of all an open heart and an enduring sense of optimism to make it blossom into a lifetime affair.
