Founded in 2009, the NOBU HOSPITALITY lifestyle brand was born from a long-term partnership between world-renowned Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, actor Robert de Niro, and film producer and entrepreneur Meir Teper.
It all started over thirty years ago when De Niro stepped foot in Matsuhisa restaurant in Los Angeles and got the inspiration for establishing a restaurant in New York, a vision that became reality in 1994 with the Nobu in Tribeca. The venture instantly became the hottest restaurant in the city, if not in the country. From there, things just started to grow, and what began as a shared love of food soon expanded into the hotel business.

Nobu Las Vegas, the world's first Nobu Hotel opened in 2013. Designed by David Rockwell reflecting Chef Nobu's and Robert DeNiro's vision of the rooms and suites, the hotel blends comfortable simplicity with Las Vegas flair. The property was soon followed by the Nobu City of Dreams, Manila in 2014, the Nobu Hotel Miami Beach in 2016, and the Nobu Ryokan Malibu in 2017.
Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch, Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay, and Nobu Hotel Marbella opened in 2018 marked the entry of the brand into Europe.

Nobu Hotel Los Cabos and Nobu Hotel Barcelona joined the portfolio in 2019.
Recently relaunched following a multi-million-dollar renovation of all accommodations and public space, Nobu Hotel Palo Alto has introduced the elevated Ryokan Palo Alto rooms on the 7th and 8th floors, rivaling the personalized guest experience of its chic sister property, Nobu Ryokan Malibu.

Soon to be opened is the Nobu Hotel Chicago, the Nobu Hotel Warsaw scheduled for November 2020, and a second London property, the Nobu Hotel London Portman Square. Situated in London's vibrant Marylebone, just a few steps from the world-renowned shopping districts of Oxford Street and Mayfair's cosmopolitan restaurants, the Nobu Hotel Portman Square will feature a Nobu Restaurant, bar, and outdoor terrace, a 600-person ballroom, meeting space, and wellness facilities.
